When I applied for Australia PR, I needed at least 8 Band in each of the IELTS components to reach the score of 65 points (all Engineering field PR acceptances are being given at 65 points and above).

This wasn’t the only technical step.

Writing 3 Career Episodes to get positive skills assessment from EngineersAustralia also required an understanding of the framework and a good grip on the language.

So I got down to work.

I read every book, enrolled in online courses, watched several youtube videos, and sat through dozens of practice tests to prepare for IELTS.

After a while, I started seeing the pattern. Suddenly, IELTS wasn’t about English anymore.

It was much simpler than that.

I realised you don’t need to be super good in the English language to score high in IELTS.

Literally, within one week, my score in practice tests went from mid-6s to high-8s. I felt like a Superman.

I sat for my IELTS exam in Dec 2015 and scored 8.5 overall (Reading 9, Listening 8.5, Speaking, 8.0, Writing 8.0).

On 1st July 2016, I applied for Australian PR (Skilled Independent subclass 189) and….. BAM! I got accepted on 6th July 2016. In 5 DAYS.
